Slow growth rate: Balsam Firs reach a height of 45–75′ and a spread of 20–25′ at maturity.
Soils: Prefers acidic, moist, well-drained, and cool locations.
Sun: Prefers full sun or partial shade. Grows best with a minimum of 4 hours of direct sunlight.
Provides habitat for birds, squirrels, mice, and voles. Deer will eat the needles. If deer are a concern, take appropriate precautions when planting.
