Soil and Water Conservation District

“Our mission is to bring people, government agencies, and private interests together to manage Jefferson County’s natural resources.”

History

Jefferson County Soil and Water Conservation District was formed on May 7, 1956 by resolution of the Jefferson County Board of Supervisors. The District is an authorized County agency and political subdivision of New York State. The District receives funds from the County of Jefferson, grants through New York State, and we generate revenue from our own programs. The District is governed by a Board of Directors and meetings are normally held the second Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m.
