Red Maples have gorgeous fall color (which isn’t always red), and they are an extremely popular choice for a shade tree. Found throughout the eastern US and southern Canada, Red Maples prefer full sun. They do well in most soils but prefer to be in wet areas. Red Maple is the state tree of Rhode Island.
