The Colorado Blue Spruce is admired in all seasons. It is known for the silvery blue-green coloring and it makes a perfect Christmas tree. It grows very well in our area and makes a great snow fence or alone as a landscaping focal point. Like other windbreaks or privacy screens, the Blue Spruce is loved by birds and small mammals. It likes full sun and adapts to most soils. State tree of…you guessed it, Colorado! Utah also named this species as their state tree.
Many people love planting transplants because they are larger in size than seedlings. (You are less likely to run them over with your mower.)
