NOTE: Black willow is not recommended for use in residential landscapes; it is susceptible to breakage and it has shallow spreading root system which may seek out water/sewer pipes. In the right location, its shallow roots can act as a quality soil binder, providing excellent EROSION CONTROL. It grows well along streambanks. Great for wildlife!
