This shrub has year-round beauty with white clusters in the spring followed by clusters of red-pink in early summer. The clusters later turn brown and the leaves turn yellow in the fall. The bark peels in strips revealing layers of reddish to light brown inner bark. This shrub shines in the winter and makes a great hedge for privacy. It is often used along streambanks to help reduce erosion.
